Protect the Future of Public Safety in Palos Verdes Estates

Measure PF Replaces Measure E — Protecting Our PVE Police and Fire/EMS Services

Measure PF replaces the expiring Measure E and dedicates funding to our PVE Police Department and Fire/EMS services.

On June 2, 2026, Palos Verdes Estates voters will decide whether to adopt this citizen-led measure to ensure continued, locally controlled funding for the police, fire, and emergency services our community depends on.

By securing these essential services, Measure PF helps keep our community safe while freeing up resources to address long-overdue infrastructure, pension obligations, and financial stability.

Why We Need Measure PF

PVE is pretty unique—we don’t have hotels, large retail centers, or car dealerships generating tax revenue like most cities. Residents are what fund the city. It’s always been this way, and unlike many similar communities, we don’t have an HOA fee.

Measure E (passed in 2018) helped fund police services, but it was always intended as a temporary fix. It didn’t fully fund the City’s needs, and it’s now expiring.

Measure PF replaces that funding, and the revenue is dedicated entirely to our PVE Police Department and Fire/EMS services provided by LA County Fire.

That frees up money for the City to address long-standing priorities we’ve been putting off, including:

  • Replacing the ~$5.1M in funding lost when Measure E expires

  • Covering ongoing operating deficits

  • Paying down pension obligations

  • Addressing deferred maintenance and aging infrastructure

  • Rebuilding critical reserves

  • Putting the City back on a stable, sustainable financial path

Measure PF is designed to ensure that Palos Verdes Estates remains a safe, well-protected community—now and into the future.
